Kills clinically relevant MRSA strains in 1 minute (99.99% log reduction)1
Antimicrobial skin cleanser HiBiScrub® Plus contains chlorhexidine gluconate which unlike soaps and gels, binds to the skin and offers withstanding superior protection for 6 hours.2, 3 The efficacy is strengthened upon repeated application.4 HiBiScrub Plus has a significant proven efficacy killing a wide range of Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria, yeasts, fungi and viruses.5 Helping to provide protection against surgical site infections and incision site bacterial growth of microorganisms in less than 60 seconds.1 Using HiBiScrub Plus in conjunction with a nasal antibiotic while whole body washing reduces the risk of HAIs by nearly 60%.6

Helps provide protection against surgical site infections (SSIs)2, 7 and hospital acquired infections (HAIs)8

Provides instant protection13

Provides residual protection, up to 6 hours long-lasting effect9, 10

Kills a wide range of microorganisms1, 5, 9

Is kind to skin, even with frequent use11, 12

HiBiScrub Plus improves cost effectiveness by helping to provide protection against surgical site infections

A recent study from the European Commission shows that an additional 16 million extra hospital days were attributed to treating HAIs at a cost of EUR 435 daily, resulting in additional spend of EUR 7 billion per year.14 Implementing a whole body wash procedure can reduce the number of HAIs and therefore unnecessary costs associated with treatment.

Whole body washing – enables a safe procedure

Incorporate whole body washing in infection control guidelines

Incorporating the whole body washing into infection control guidelines can influence surgical procedures to be genuinely clean from the very start. Using HiBi high quality antiseptic products to prepare patients before and after surgery will help to provide protection against SSIs. HiBiScrub Plus for whole body washing is a highly effective antiseptic solution helping surgery to be safer for patients.

HiBiScrub Plus will keep working long after application, continuously killing bacteria for up to 6 hours.9, 10 This will reduce the natural bacteria found on 1 in 3 people’s skin by 93%.9, 15

Clinical research on whole body washing

The patient is a source of contamination due to the significant relationship between positive skin culture and wound infection rates.8

A randomised control trial published in the New England Journal of Medicine shows that whole body washing with HiBiScrub Plus in conjunction with mupirocin nasal ointment can reduce infections by up to 60%.6

Each year in the EU every 1 in 20 patients acquire a hospital acquired infection (HAI), leading to 4.5 million infections. According to the Centre for Disease Control (CDC) 2-5% of patients undergoing surgery will acquire a surgical site infection (SSI).14
Use biocides safely. Always read the label and product information before use.

Follow these simple instructions to ensure the skin is thoroughly disinfected

The whole body washing process can be incorporated in the infection control guidelines of your hospital. Paradoxically, the patient him/herself is often the dirtiest object in the sterile field. To further reduce wound infection rates, it is essential to make the patient part of the ‘clean and safe surgery’. This is a significant way to encourage the patient to contribute to infection control.

A whole body wash with HiBiScrub Plus should be done the night before surgery and on the morning of surgery. Each time following this procedure:

1. Wash your face with undiluted HiBiScrub especially around the nose, avoiding your eyes and ears.

2. Using a clean sponge, working downwards, wash the armpits.

3. Continue washing downwards and wash well around the groin area.

4. After washing all theimportant areas, rinse off under the shower.

5. Now repeat steps 1 to 4, but this time starting with the hair.

6. After a final rinse, dry yourself thoroughly with a clean towel and put on clean clothes.
